Who we are
Rather than being a place where people far from God are met with shame, guilt, and condemnation, Living Hope Maitland models itself on Jesus. He loved and accepted people just the way they were and lead them into deep relationship with God. We want to mirror this, to be a family that extends God’s love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness to everyone. No matter what you’ve been through or what questions you might have, we want you to be a part of the family.
Where we come from
Living Hope Maitland (also know as Maitland Church of Christ) was planted by Ray Hawkings and a team of faithful Christians in 1984. They were sent from Mayfield Church of Christ to create a new community of living hope that would minister to the local community and help them find freedom in the message of Jesus.
In faith, the church purchased a block of land in 19XX and has built a wonderful facility that fosters spiritual growth and community activities. There is always something happening at Living Hope Maitland.
Where we’re headed
What’s the bottom line? We are committed to seeing people being birthed in their faith, growing into mature Christians and making an impact on the world around them.
Our name comes from the Bible in 1 Peter 1:3 “You are being born again into a living hope” and that is what we want to share with everyone in our community. That means more than words, it means showing them with our actions.

What to Expect
on Your First Visit
We care about you, not what you’re wearing. We don’t care who you’re voting for in the next election or how many tattoos you have. We’re a church full of imperfect, broken people who are coming to know Jesus and serving others together, and regardless of your story, we believe you belong!
